As you can see on your right, there are now 3 other blog sites for our class. The Picture Album, The Lunch Bunch, and now the Class Database.
You will not be able to navigate to the Database at this time. I have blocked it from view on the internet, except if you are a signed in member of our class with a password. Please test this and add a comment to let me know this block works.
This has been so easy to set up without being time consuming and it's free. We can all maintain it by adding pictures and thoughts. It will be blocked to all but our class so it will not be picked up by a search on google or anywhere else. (Right now, only the database page is blocked.)
I hope you will continue to give me input by clicking on comment. I don't think you have to give your email to comment. Michele entered a comment under anonymous.

FYI, I can't make the Reunion this year, but I assume we'll have another in 2 years for our 50th, right?

Evidently I am not a class member in good standing, since I can't get into the database blog. That's actually very cool! It appears I need somehow to be vetted by the author/creator, which is Marilynn. 'Zat right? Or is there a place to "register" for access that I have just overlooked?
Here's a cute one that was making the rounds of math departments a few years ago. Prove: there exist two irrational numbers a and b such that a^b is rational. Proof: Consider (sqrt(2)^sqrt(2)). If this is rational, we are done, with a = b = sqrt(2). If it is not rational, then let a = (sqrt(2)^sqrt(2)) and b = sqrt(2). Then a^b = 2 and the proof is complete. The cool thing is that you have no idea which of the pair of numbers really does the job--only that one or the other does!

Joe, you should be able to get into the site and look at the database, but you won't be able to change it. You can make a post to the database site to make changes or additions. You are on the list to do that.

Marilynn, you are doing a terrific job with the blog. I'm glad you're doing it and not yours truly. I'd mess it up for sure. I'm really enjoying our weekly lunches. Sorry it took me so long to get started. I realize 1:00 is not your usual time to meet, but it makes it easier for me to be able to attend. Thanks again for all your hard work.
